About Us - The CarFix Story Auto Repair - Garner, NC
The building where Carfix is located was built in 2000 as a classic tire store. A few years later James was given the opportunity to purchase the facility and in November of 2005 Carfix was born! Through many upgrades in personnel and equipment Carfix has become one of the premier full service maintenance facilities in the Garner / Clayton area. Over the years we have been very lucky to develop a great relationship with our community. In the spirit of giving back we have associated with Wheels 4 Hope, TheFoodEffect.org, and The Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC as well as sponsoring many local civic organizations through donations to silent auctions. We have also been fortunate enough to gather together an industry leading staffs who embrace our business core values:
Walk the walk.
- Act with integrity and sincerity every day.
- Show empathy and compassion every day.
- Demonstrate self-respect by respecting others every day.
- Embrace challenges, they are growth opportunities.
Do the right thing.
- When given a choice, choose the path that is the most positive for the most people.
- See a need, take action.
- Speak the truth, respectfully.
- You got where you are today with the help of others. Return the favor and help others along their path.
- Leave things in better shape than when you arrived.
- Show gratitude always - we have a lot to be thankful for.
- Treat everyone how you want to be treated.
- At ourselves.
- With others – not at others.
Meet the Team
James, Owner of CarFix, is a native of Orange County. Born and raised just outside of Chapel Hill at a country store-service station, his automotive experience started early. His other shop, Auto Protocall in Chapel Hill, is a 20 bay facility with over 25 employees. In 2005, James opened his second store – CarFix!
Today, James and his wife of over 40 years live less than a mile from where he grew up. They have two sons; Lt. Col. Brent Allen is an F-16 pilot in the S.C. Air Guard, and Mike – CarFix’s Manager.
James' interests are automotive shop management, long distance motorcycling, competitive pistol shooting and spending time with his ever-growing number of grandchildren!
Mike is the third generation of the Allen family to devote themselves to taking care of the community's automotive service needs. Mike was raised in rural Orange County and split his time between his grandfather's service station and his father's garage in Chapel Hill.
When the family opened CarFix, Mike and his wife Amanda moved to the Cleveland area where they have taken root in the community. Mike has two sons; Elijah and Jackson - look around the shop and you will surely find pictures of them somewhere!
When Mike isn't at at CarFix, he is usually out on his motorcycle, taking in a Tarheels game, or target shooting.
